Community Bread Basket Program Guidelines & Disclaimer
Our mission is to create a community-supported emergency assistance fund that provides temporary financial relief to members experiencing unexpected hardships. Every monthly membership helps strengthen the fund and provides hope to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.
To ensure the fund can make a meaningful impact, emergency assistance will not begin until the Community Bread Basket reaches a minimum of 10,000 active monthly subscribers. Reaching this milestone will help establish a sustainable funding pool capable of providing equitable assistance to members in need.
Eligibility & Funding Guidelines
Active Membership Required: You must maintain an active, paid monthly membership at the time your application is submitted and when assistance is awarded.
Funding Is Limited: Emergency assistance is funded entirely through member subscriptions. Monthly funds are limited and may be exhausted before the end of each month.
First-Come, First-Served: Complete applications will be reviewed in the order they are received while funding remains available.
Approval Is Not Guaranteed: Membership provides the opportunity to apply for assistance but does not guarantee funding. All requests are subject to eligibility requirements, available funds, and program policies.
Emergency Assistance Only: Assistance is intended for verified emergencies, including but not limited to rent or mortgage payments, utility shutoff notices, food insecurity, emergency transportation, medical-related hardships, or other qualifying financial emergencies.
Verification Required: Applicants must provide documentation supporting their request, such as eviction notices, utility shutoff notices, invoices, bills, receipts, or other documentation requested during the review process.
Maximum Award Amount: The maximum amount available per approved request will be determined based on the available monthly funding and may change as the program grows.
One Assistance Award Per Household: To help serve as many members as possible, households may receive only one emergency assistance award within a twelve-month period unless otherwise approved under exceptional circumstances.
Payments Made Directly to Vendors: Whenever possible, approved funds will be paid directly to landlords, utility providers, medical providers, grocery vendors, or other service providers rather than directly to the applicant. This helps ensure that community contributions are used for their intended purpose.
Confidentiality: We respect your privacy. Personal information and supporting documentation will remain confidential. Recipient stories or testimonials will only be shared with the member’s written permission.
Fraud Prevention: Any individual found to have submitted false information, altered documents, or fraudulent claims may have their application denied, membership terminated, and may be permanently disqualified from future assistance.
Program Modifications: Community Bread Basket reserves the right to modify eligibility requirements, funding limits, application procedures, or program policies at any time to ensure the long-term sustainability and fairness of the program.
Transparency & Accountability
We believe every member deserves to know how their contributions are making a difference. Each month, members will receive a digital newsletter providing a transparent summary of the program’s impact, including:
Total membership growth
Total funds collected
Number of assistance requests received
Number of approved requests
General categories of assistance provided (housing, utilities, food, medical, etc.)
Remaining monthly balance
Success stories shared only with the recipient’s written permission
Important Notice
Community Bread Basket is a community-supported emergency assistance program and is not an insurance policy, government assistance program, loan program, or guaranteed source of financial aid. Membership provides the opportunity to apply for emergency assistance when funding is available and eligibility requirements have been met. By joining Community Bread Basket, you acknowledge and agree to these guidelines and understand that assistance is dependent upon available funds and compliance with all program requirements.
Thank you for helping us build a stronger, more compassionate community—one membership, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.
